It really depends from school to school. There is an AP course (Advanced Placement) that is offered at many high schools called Environmental Science. This course focuses on various issues related to sustainability.
At this point, it is not set as a part of the major curriculum in most classrooms, but there are starting to be a growing number of resources for teachers who want to introduce sustainability into their classrooms. At this point, it’s up to the culture of individual schools and to individual teachers to incorporate sustainability into the high school curriculum.
Depends on the high school. But more and more schools are implementing environmental practices into their schools, from recycling to composting. Some schools teach Environmental Sciences that can also be credited to college courses. The link below is a great teaching aid about energy for K-12th grade.
