Are we still breaking records for being the warmest year of all time?

It depends on what location you want to focus on.  The world temperature average from January to September made 2011 the 7th warmest year on record.   So far 2010 and 2005 are tied for hottest years world-wide.  Keep in this mind these records only entail the century plus years scientists have been documenting such data.  The world was a warmer place millions of years ago before our existence, and as its climate moves in cycles, who knows: maybe we have yet to see much more drastic climate change in our lifetimes.
