There’s no way to tell right now. Ultimately, it depends on how well everything is implemented, from the cars themselves to infrastructure (such as charging stations). If there’s one thing that’s constant, it’s that consumers are fickle and, although they pick up on trends, they also ditch trends quickly too. If electric cars are too expensive or too inconvenient to charge (based on range, charging stations, etc), then consumers will be quick to move on from electric cars, no matter how ‘hot’ the green industry is. Whether or not there is an electric car revlution will depend on the value the consumers can see in the car, and it’ll be up to companies and government to ensure that there is a good enough value to attract many consumers.
