Are we doing anything to make medical procedures better for the environment?

There are a few things that doctors and other medical staff can do to benefit the environment. For example, a lot of medical waste (such as mercury) is hazardous to the environment, and some doctors are trying to use equipment without mercury. Others are using less PVC in their IVs, since PVC also harms the environment when disposed of improperly.
