Yes, the process is called desalination, and there are many plants springing up across America. The main difference between America and say, an EU country, is that in America water recycling is dealt with in the private sector (as is mostly everything, whether this is a good thing or ot is open for debate). In a European country, the water recycling plants owuld lilkely be government ufnded and ran, while in America they are the property of private businesses (I know GE has invested alot of money into desalination, I’m sure other large corporations have similar plants).
