I couldn’t find much suggesting that waterbeds are all that terrible, but I did find some disadvantages of owning a waterbed. 1) It can cost a lot in electricity to keep a waterbed heated. 2) Sheets for waterbeds can be much harder to find than traditional sheets. 3) Waterbeds could occassionally leak. This costs money in repair, forces you to sleep elsewhere until the bed is repaired, and consumes time in refilling and reheating. 4) Waterbeds will smell like vinyl for while after you newly purchase them.
