Are water beds bad for the environment?

Polystyrene balls that are attached to a mattress’s skin in certain brands of waterbeds as floats can potentially be washed out and become pollutants.

As long as you recycle it properly, I’m sure it is not.  Compared to a regular mattress which is nearly impossible to recycle, water beds might actually be the better option.  Whatever choice you make, be sure it works for you first.
