Are trucks worse for the environment than cars?

Generally speaking, yes.  On average trucks get less miles per gallon due to their large engines. This means that they burn more fuel and emit more carbon for the same distance traveled. This is of course a generalization and there are cars, especially old cars, that might have equally bad or worse gas mileage. Just check the fuel efficiency on the website below of any car or truck before you buy it.
