How eco-friendly an indoor climbing center is largely depends on the center and which materials it used in building it’s walls and what type of supplies it has purchased for customers. In this sense, not all indoor climbing centers would be labeled eco-friendly. However, outdoor rock climbing often means putting bolts into rocks and risks leaving behind litter. Often to climb outdoors one goes into preserved areas or natural habitat and wilderness where a “leave no trace” policy is the only way to keep the wild animals wild and unaccustomed to people. In this case, indoor climbing especially at a place which has been constructed to be environmentally friendly would be a better option for the environment.
