MIT has created the pressurized oxy-fuel combustion, which separates the carbon-dioxide emissions released when burning coal and turns it into a concentrated, pressurized liquid stream. The liquid co2 is inserted in geological formations deep to prevent their escape, this method is called carbon dioxide sequestration.
