In the United States, no. Even the huge forests of Alaska, the Chugach and the Tongass, have been explored and harvested to some degree. There are, however, a number of unexplored forests left in the world. For example, the Serrainia de San Luca a 2.5 million acre forest in Columbia remains mostly unexplored. Just because it is unexplored, however, does not mean that we are not looking for ways to destroy it. Only last year, developers proposed leveling the forest to build a goldmine.
