Are there still significant concentrations of DDT to be found in U.S. soil or water anywhere?

While everyone always talks about how persistent DDT is in the environment it actually breaks down into DDE rather quickly. DDE is the chemical that is an endocrine disruptor and has caused all the problems with wildlife. So no any large amounts of DDT left in the environment would have been degraded to DDE quickly.
