Absolutely. Although it’s illegal, “dynamite fishing is practiced in up to 30 countries in Southeast Asia and Oceania and is also common in Eastern Africa” (coral.org). It began before World War I, and will continue so long as people are hungry, poor, it is easier to build a bomb than spend days at sea trying your luck, and the consequences of blast fishing aren’t enough of a deterrent.
