Endangered Primates are being eaten in Africa and South America, amongst many others, so Asia is not alone in the ingesting of near-extinct animals.
Certain endangered animals are still eaten in specific parts of the world, yes. Endangered apes and elephants are eaten all over Africa, the bluefin tuna in Pacific Northwest America, the Chinook salmon in Japan, and caribou in Canada. While China and other Asian nations (deservedly) get a bad rap for their continued poaching and eating of endangered species, they are by no means the only nations at fault.
