In Yellowstone, there are 67 species of mammals, and what the park itself describes as “a small amount” or birds, reptiles, and amphibians (with reptiles and amphibians actually on the decline).
In Yosemite, there are 12 species of amphibians, 165 permanent species of bird, 90 species of mammals, and 22 reptile species. The population of fish fluctuated as the lakes were stocked yearly until 1990, but between 1877 and 1990, there were 33 million fish.
