Are there more tent cities now because of the “Great Recession?”

    There are certainly more people living in tent cities, who have lost their jobs due to the recession. For example, the first link below is to an article about a tent city in Sacramento, where most of the residents had lived for just two months or less when the article was written last year.

    One prediction estimated that in total, the recession has or will force 1.5 million people into homelessness.
