Are there more wetlands in New Orleans than there are in Florida?

The area around New Orleans has lost much of its traditional wetlands, and this has been linked to the increase in flooding since wetlands help by acting as buffers in flood zones. Nearly a fifth of the wetlands in the lower 48 states are found in Florida, with 120,000 acres on the northwest coast of Florida alone.
