There is a much higher percentage of regular car sales in the US than Canada. In terms of actual number, there were about 16.5 millions new cars/light trucks sold in the US in the year 2007 while there were only 1.6 millions new cars/trucks sold in Canada the same year. Looking at these numbers it is pretty reasonable to estimate more green cars on American roads than on Canadian roads. The percentage might be closer in terms of actual percentage of cars that are green when compared to the number of regular car sales in the respective countries.
