Are there more environmental refugees than other types of refugees?

By 2010 there will be approximately 50 million displaced because of environmental problems ranging from rising sea levels, flooding, dried up aquifers and scores of other environmental woes. Thus, whether or not these refugees outnumber other refugees for political or social reasons is hard to tell because even the term “environmental refugee” is hard to define and in many instances it is being disputed for some displaced groups. Thus, it is not sure whether or not it will out number other types of refugees, but it is certainly a very large number of people.
