Are there green tattoo parlors?

No  “The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved “any tattoo inks for injection into the skin, and many ink pigments used are industrial strength colors suitable for printers’ ink or automobile paint.“ The chemicals used for tattoos are stated to be anything but green. So sadly while they may look good there are none that are considered environmentally good.

In 2010 the Natural Mystic Inc. Tattoo Dome opened, claiming to be the first eco friendly tattoo parlor. Everything in the design of the building was taken into account to help make this particular parlor as sustainable as possible. For example, bamboo makes up a portion of the interior and skylights help to proved a natureal light to the dome.

While the question of eco friendly tattoo ink may still be up in the air, tattoo artists like Brad Steven (of Fun City Tattoos) in New York City boasts that the ink he uses is vegan and vegetarian friendly.
