Are there flying squirrels in the United States?

    Yes there are. They usually range more to the east, with the furthest west they get being Minnesota. They range all the way from north to south, from Canada down through Mexico. Naturally, they love trees, and can be found in deciduous forests (ones that lose their leaves during the fall) and coniferous trees (evergreens, pine trees for example, that don’t lose their foliage during the year).

    Yes, but only two types of flying squirrels. The Northern flying squirrel (Glaucomys sabrinus) is one of two species, the only flying squirrels found in North America (the other is the somewhat smaller Southern flying squirrel.
