Several tire manufacturers are designing green(er) tires. They’ve been on the market for at least a couple years now, but concerns for safety and efficiency are responsible for the lack of popularity. New technologies and changes in design have since made tires safer. Bridgestone’s Ecopia tires have a superior design compared to their predecessors, and Yokohama recently revealed their tires that are made with orange oil, which reduce the petroleum content in their tires and also makes the recycling process easier and less energy-consuming. Try asking a salesperson at a tire shop about what types of green tires they carry, and if you’re still skeptical, do some additional research online before buying.
Goodyear fuel-max tires allow you to use minimal fuel when operating your car. This would classify them as environmentally friendly tires.
