Are there countries that raise camels for food?

It doesn’t look like it. However, Australia actually has a growing problem because it is home to the largest feral herd of camels in the world, and the population is getting out of control. They are reportedly destroying the fragile ecosystems and sullying water sources. Because they have few natural predators, a proposed solution to controlling the population is to eat them. Camel meat is sold in Australia, and their government has pledged millions of dollars toward a camel population control plan. So even though they’re not technically raising the camels as food, they do consume them in Australia.
