All dogs that have hair shed at least a little, regardless of texture or coarseness. There are some breeds of dogs, such as poodles, that are known to be less problematic for those with allergies because they have less dander. Hairless or nearly hairless dogs are a hypo-allergenic solution to dog lovers with allergies; some breeds in this category include Bichon Frises, Italian Greyhounds, Maltese, Schnauzers, and several breeds of terriers (among others).
No – unfortunately all dogs so shed at some point in their life. Ensuring that a dog has a healthy & balanced diet can minimize most shedding on thinly-coated dogs. Dogs such as the chinese crested might be the closest thing to a non-shedding dog due to their extremely thin/spread-out coat.
My family is highly allergic to shedding dogs. We have 3 dogs now that don’t shed. 2 schnauzers and 1 morkie (Maltese-Yorkie mix). They never shed.
