Yes. Patagonia led the way, launching a line of outerwear made from 100% recycled materials in 2008. Now, other big names like Burton, Roxy, and others also have outerwear made from recycled and sustainable materials such as plastic bottles and hemp. Patagonia also claims that 65% of their clothing can be recycled and made into new clothing through their Common Threads Recycling Program.
The Niorth Face also has a line of recyled jackets and hoodies called Denali. The line covers mens, womens, boys and girls outerwear, and is made from Polartec 300 fleece. Polartec 300 is made from 87% recycled materials. The company estimates that they are saving “.83 gallons of gas and 33 pounds of carbon dioxide per jacket [made].”
Burton has the Dante jacket for women which is made from recycled polyester fabric derived from recycled soda bottles. The one shown is white and looks like it would keep you really warm.
