Are there any whales that are going to be affected by this oil spill?

Definietly. Sperm whales seem to be noticably struggling. Crude oil is toxic to the whales because it could cause breathing trouble when they come up for air. It is said by experts that toxins and infection from the oil contamination will have lethal affects on animals in the water. Whales are less vulnerable than most because of their mobility but are still being harmed. On June 15 2010, a sperm whale was discovered 77 miles south of the BP deepwater oil spill sit; however, the oil spill was not confimed to be the official cause of death.
