I couldn’t find any evidence of existent tract house neighborhoods that all have solar systems installed, but we may be seeing the idea implemented soon. A British architechture firm called Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners designed a 145-unit tract housing development that use “EcoHats.” EcoHats are aluminum structures that house solar panels and an airflow system that optimizes energy consumption and recirculates hot air to heat water.
As green architecture become more widely used, it will likely just be a matter of time before we see solar tract house neighborhoods.
