Loblaw, Canada’s largest chain of supermarkets, installed solar panels on 4 pilot stores, with an ultimate goal of powering over 100 of their stores in Ontario by solar power.
The Floating Triveni Super Store is a supermarket with 2,000 items in stock covering 1,000 square feet of space aboard a boat measuring 16 meters long and 6 meters wide. The floating store delivers items to customers with a crew of 8, and is powered by solar panels. It was established by an organization called Consumerfed, and is based in Kuttanad, India.
