There are a few species of spider whose fangs are too small to penetrate the skin of a human. Most of these spiders are very small to begin with or are in the crab spider family. Not all small spiders share this trait however, as most types of spider can bite humans. Another example that is well known is the daddy-long-leg spider. While they are very venomous (not the most venomous of spiders as many people believe) they cannot bite a human because their fangs are not long enough. As frightening as spiders can be, they do not often bite humans even though most of them can.
