Are there any soda companies that are trying to be green?

The major soda companies (Coke and Pepsi) each have sustainability pages documenting their efforts to be green. Both plan to reduce packaging and water use and vamp up recycling and reuse. Both have also set up programs in partnership with non-profits to tackle environmental issues, such as watershed protection (Coke) and sustainable agriculture (Pepsi).

I’m also impressed by the efforts of the Jones Soda company to be green (or, in their words, to keep it real): 100% recyclable glass and carrying cases, rail shipping instead of truck shipping, and, my favorite: for Earth Day, powering the company office with the use of 10 bikes.

One green idea that Coca Cola should consider adopting is a square bottle designed by Andrew Kim (really, check out the link!), which allows it to be stacked to fit more bottles in one shipping crate.
