From everything I know the debate is not so much whether or not global warming exists, the evidence is pretty undeniable that the Earth is getting warmer, instead the question is whether or not human activity is the cause and what will be the effect. People argue that the warming of the global is part of natural cycles, essentially that we are still coming out of the last ice age. So evidence that they point to is that the temperature has been higher at other times in the Earth’s history and of course that there was a warming trend before humans starting putting CO2 into the atmosphere. While this is true it doesn’t look at the rate of increase during these natural cycles versus now.
