The ancient Indian dharmic religion Jainism mandates vegetarianism for all followers. In fact, Jainism further restricts its proponents diet to exclude root vegetables. Some Eastern religions, such as Buddhism and Hinduism, also advocate vegetariansim, but don’t require it.
