The Unity home design created by Bensonwood homes and MIT was awarded LEED platinum status from the US Green Building Council. Though ranging from high $300,000s to $500,000, this home does accomplish net-zero energy use through its insulation, concrete base, passive heating and solar panels. It is also designed to be easily repaired. The current prototype is standing up to Maine weather.
