DDT has been banned worldwide for agricultural use, however, under much scrutiny, it is still used today for disease vector control. DDT has proven to be affective in killing the malaria virus which is why it is used across Africa to do so. Because malaria kills up to 20 million children every year in Africa, one could make the case that DDT should be utilized until a safer form of disease prevention is created.
