The only penguins living in the Northern Hemisphere are in “zoos and wildlife displays”. There are no naturally living penguins on the continents of North America, Europe, and Asia. The most north-living penguins are those from the Galapagos Islands. Although the islands are near the equator, cold water is brought there from a current based in the Antarctic.
While most penguins are found to live in the southern hemisphere, there are species that migrate between both hemispheres, the such as the African Penguin. There are also the Galapagos Island penguins that live directly on the Equator and have sometimes traveled further north to breed.
