Are there any other large ice sheets that are at risk of giant breakups like the Petermann Glacier?

If you don’t know the answer, do you know what ice sheets or glaciers are facing the biggest risk from global warming?

The glaciers of Indonesia are under great threat of disappearing.  Glaciers on Puncak Jaya, a mountain region in eastern Indonesia are the last remaining glaciers in Indonesia.  Recent studies on the glaciers have produced estimations that the glaciers will melt completely within years, not decades as initially presumed.  Check out the link below for more information.

This is only one case of glaciers under tremendous stress, Greenland’s glaciers are under constant watch, glaciers all around the world appear to be receding at much increased rates.  Climate change appears to be the glaring reason for these occurrences, and we will have keep a watchful eye on the health of our earth’s glaciers.
