Are there any natural predators for the Asian carp in the lakes?

Young Asian carp in their first year look similar to Baby Shad. Predators of Baby Shad may mistake the Asian carp and eat it. Predators of this kind include perch, walleye, muskie and pike. Asian carp have also been noted for their poor predator avoidance, and should predators be introduced Asian carp populations could be significantly affected.

Asian Carp are are an invasive species in American waters. If they enter the Great Lakes, the current ecosystem there will deteriorate because the species, having no natural predators in the area, will take over.
