No species of monkey is truly carnivorous in the sense of relying almost completely on meat for food. However, there definitely are monkeys that eat meat. Even many species that eat mainly fruit or leaves will occasionally eat insects and other invertebrates when the opportunity presents itself, but there are also monkeys that capture vertebrate prey – mainly some of the larger Old World monkeys (monkeys that live in Africa or Asia). Baboons, for instance, will sometimes hunt and eat animals as large as small antelope and other monkeys.
