Yes, there are several libraries with LEED certification, or that are currently in the process of being certified by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. The Bronx Library achieved Silver certification, meaning the structure operates 50-60% of green effectiveness. The Hillsdale Library in Portland, Oregon achieved Gold certification, or 60-80%, in 2004. Finally, the Semiahmoo Library in British Columbia was certified at the Silver level, also in 2004. The Selkirk-St Andrews-St Clement Library in Manitoba, Waterloo Public Library in Ontario and Whistler Public Library are in the process of achieving LEED status.
