There are some companies that offer cash incentives for their employees to purchase hybrid cars. Hyperion, a software company, commits $1 million a year in cash incentives for their employees to purchase a hybrid automobile. If the employee agrees to the purchase they receive $5,000. The million dollar a year incentive budget will finance up to 250 employees with their purchase.

Bank of America does essentially the same thing with a $3,000 reimbursement for their purchase. But unlike Hyperion, Bank of America has not put any sort of cap on this incentive. However the program is limited in that it was only introduced in three “pilot areas,” Boston, Charlotte and Los Angeles.
