    Yes. K9 units are used to track poachers in the Galapagos Islands. K9 units will patrol the three islands which have seen an increase in sea lion poaching and will also have random check points and airport and harbor searches. Dogs are well equipped to help track poachers because they are able to locate objects beyond human senses.

    There are k9 units that are being used to track poachers. One place that they are being used is in New York, where baiting for bear or deer is illegal. Officers use the k9s to track illegal hunters such as hunters that are baiting deer or bear, hunting with no licenses, hunters with no bow stamps, and to locate early season stands.
