Are there any household products that use biomimicry?

One very familiar application of biomimicry (found in most homes) is Velcro, invented by Swiss engineer Georges de Mestral.  Mestral was inspired by the burrs that stuck to his clothing after walking through the woods and spent eight years researching how to create a “synthetic burr” to use as an alternative clothing fastener.  He patented Velcro (a combination of “velvet” and “crochet”) in 1955.
