Are there any harmful chemicals that can be inhaled when running the air conditioning in your car?

The air that enters your car from your air conditioning system is simply air that has been run through a compressor and had the heat taken out of through the use of a refrigerant (such as freon), but has not necessarily been exposed to any of the refrigerant chemicals.  Thus, exposure to any damaging chemical agents is very unlikely.  There have been concerns about exposure to benzene (mainly from the plastic compositions of things such as dashboards) but studies have mainly found no causal link between car interiors or AC and illness.
