I haven’t found any evidence of a bike-friendly freeway. For the most part, bikes are banned on the freeway, mainly because it is too dangerous. The article below describes people who have challenged this.
It is all in the eye of the beholder. It is legal to ride on many freeways in the rural West. Generally, freeways are built to high design standards; wide lanes, wide paved shoulders, good sightlines, gradual grades, etc. It the motorists stay in their lanes, which they generally do, riding on freeway should is in fact relatively safe. Do expect an esthetically pleasing experience.
Any ones without cars on them.
