Are there any forests in America that are protected from logging?

There are many protected forests in the US. There are 3,063 IUCN categorized forests which are protected. The categories that designate a protected are are: Ia. Strict Nature Reserve, Ib. Wilderness Area, II. National Park, III. National Monument or Feature, IV. Habitat/Species Management Area, V. Protected Landscape Seascape (IUCN website).

However 24.7% of America’s land area is forested, and National Parks consist of only 2.7 % of the total land area. The other categories above aren’t accounted for in that percentage so I don’t know how much of that 24.7% is protected.
