Are there any endangered species in grasslands?

There a number of different species around the world that are endangered in grassland ecosystems. This is probably because grasslands represent the most appealing farm land, and thus, as we have seen in the American mid-west, these ecosystems are usually ripe apart in order to satisfy man. For instance, American animals that have become endangered as a result of grassland destruction include most notably the American Bison. Other include the black-footed ferret and many other species of small rodent that have become endangered as a result of human encroachment.
