The Electric Auto Association can help you get a lot of experience working with electric vehicles. Since electric motors last a million miles, there is not much maintenance that needs to be done on electric vehicles other than changing the batteries and dealing with any wiring issues. You can learn how to do this pretty quickly by converting your own electric vehicle. If you are mechanically inclined, you will also find converting your own electric vehicle a lot more fun than working with a factory model. You could also go into business converting other people’s old cars to run on electricity.
