Generally speaking, two stroke engines are less efficient than four stroke engines. This is because the two stroke engines is a simpler design and the gas/oil mixture that is released prior to, and in the exhaust, making for bigger emissions. Mopeds, lawnmowers, chainsaws and some motorbikes use two stroke engines but these are small engines that wouldn’t benefit much from a four stroke. But on a larger scale four stroke engines are clear winners.
