Yes, there are eco-friendly fertilizers that you can use for your grass including an ancient technique used by Amazon Indians, African tribesmen, and Chinese farmers, called “biocharring.” Biocharring works by grinding burned pieces of wood and adding the pieces to compost and/or clean soil and burying the mix 6 inches into the ground. Other eco-friendly fertilizers include fertilizers high in slow-release nitrogen and fertilizers which do not contain phosphorus.
