I like these sandwich bags. They are made from cloth and are washable as well as reusable.
Yes! The easiest and best way to carry your sandwich in an eco-friendly way is to use a reusable container. That way, you don’t have to throw it away and can simply wash it at the end of the day. You can also use wax paper to wrap your sandwiches which is compostable. There is also a product known as a Wrap-N-Mat which is a reusable mat to wrap your sandwich.
If you must use a plastic bag instead of a washable container, try washing and reusing your ziplock baggies. Several packs could last over a year if you keep washing them. If you despise hand-washing, you can always flip them inside-out and put them in the top drawer of your dishwasher. Not only do you drastically decrease waste, but you save a ton of money!
As other respondents have said, you can wash and reuse plastic bags for storing sandwiches and other snacks. But a much more fun way is definitely reusable bags—there’s a huge selection of handmade snack and sandwich bags over on Etsy. You can have bags with fun patterns and designs, and choose from a really wide variety of styles and shapes. If you go with a plain cotton one, I would definitely wrap the sandwich in another material (someone else suggested wax paper), or you could get one made out of a liquid resistant material to easily wipe away jelly or mayo or some other delicious sandwich condiment. Check out the list below for some great options!
